I've spent 2 summer seasons (Oct - Feb) working at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. From the second you arrive on station you are bombarded with ridiculous amounts of acronyms, abbreviations, and lingo. It's pretty overwhelming. This is a growing list, so please help me fill it out by leaving a comment if you there's something missing. Also keep in mind that the ALL CAPS items are pronounced by sounding-out each letter individually, accept when specified {inside curly brackets}.

I didn't take any special food or snacks to Antarctica last season. This time around I decided that I might enjoy myself just a little bit more if I have a few of my favorite food-things there with me. If you feel like sending me something yourself, here's the address: Eli Duke (RPSC), McMurdo Station, PSC 469 Box 700, APO AP 96599-1035. Oh yeah, and styrofoam is a banned substance in Antarctica. Just a heads up.

i remember when this movie first came out i thought it looked prettty good, but then it just faded into the background. then tonight i got an email from landmark theaters (i'm on their mailing list) and i noticed The Prestige was playing at the $3 theater up on 165th. I jumped in the car and made it just in time. Boy was i lucky!

overall, software is really cheap. ten, twenty, maybe thirty dollars and you've got yourself something well worth the price. i bought Acquistion for $15 about 3 years ago and i have neven regreted that purchase. listed below are other pieces of software that i just need to buckle down and buy: mainly to have full access to all it's features, but also to support it's creators. am i missing anything? let me know.

we'd been planning to see the Cirque for a few weeks now, but it just so happened to land perfectly on Hannah's birthday so we surprised her.

when i first told her that we had something planned for the night of her birthday, she guessed the Cirque right away. but i used my skills of surprise and convinced her that wasn't it. then tonight we blindfolded her the entire way there! TaDa!
